–Says No Victor, No Vanquished, Offers Hands Of Fellowship To Opponents
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed gratitude to the good people of Okpe State Constituency for the confidence they reposed on him through their votes on March 9, 2019.
He declared that there was no Victor, no vanquished and extended hands of fellowship to his opponents, imploring them to join forces with him to move Okpe Kingdom forward.
The Speaker was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Prof Emmanuel Ighodaro Irhabor on Sunday in a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Dennis Otu, commended the electorate for his re-election and reassured of his commitment to serve and represent their interest for good governance.
According to the Statement, “My good people of Okpe State Constituency, I want to thank all of you for believing in my ability and capability to always deliver on Mandate. I am short of words to really express my gratitude to all of you for turning out massively on March 9, 2019 for my reelection.
“It ended in praise and I thank all of you for making this to happen. Thank you very much for a job well done”.
The Speaker added that, “I want to appreciate our great Party, the PDP, all the leaders, Elders, Men, Women, Youths and all Party faithful for making my reelection possible.
“I am humbled by your show of love and confidence reposed on me to represent you once again and I want to reassure you that I will not fail you”.
Oborevwori who polled 20, 784 votes against his rival, Harrison Akpojaro of the APC with 8,564 said; “To my co-Contestants, particularly Mr Harrison Akpojaro, I commend all of you for show of maturity and peaceful deposition. Certainly there is no Victor, no vanquished.
“I dedicate this victory to the Almighty God and the good people of Okpe State Constituency.
Elections have come and gone and I hereby offer hands of fellowship to all those who contested with me.
“We are one people and so let us join forces to move the great Okpe Kingdom forward. May the good Lord bless and keep us all”
